With a history rich in agriculture and livestock, Ventura continues to serve as prime farmland in Southern California. A diverse array of vegetables and fruits have grown for centuries in this area. Avocados and strawberries continue to serve as a primary staple and as the main cash crop.Local farmers pride themselves on the variety and bounty of crops grown in this region,making the farmers market a popular local favorite.
